    Skateboarding is not about being better than someone. For myself, a good ride is with my friends and a lot of fun no matter the tricks. If skateboarding was about being superior and whatsoever I would be retired since... a long time.

    agreed - rodney mullen.
    man, watching old powell movies, future primitive, etc - that guy was so so so far ahead of his time. i mean, look at the old 'freestyle boards'. ALL boards look like that now!
    or, at least they DID, until old school decks became the new NEW SCHOOL decks....
    old skool, new skool, just f*&#ing skate already!

      amen. Rodney Mullen was inventing and pulling tricks that no one realized would revolutionize the skating industry, from the pools and the longboarding to the varios flip tricks of today.
      I salute rodney for making skating the art it is.

      I still watch what he does and it takes my breath away.
      fingerflips and darkslides...he drives me crazy.

      Man tell me about it - Im still skatin my fat VISION PHYSICOSTIX with POWELL RAT BONEs and ventures....some kids came up to me the other day thinkin I was doing the old Skool deck thang - man its an original!!! Im just skatin my board man, carving it up, its not a fashion statement - sk8 sk8 sk8!!
